I just finished watching this week’s episode on hulu a few minutes ago. The fact that I just now got around to it, and didn’t watch it live is quite a testament to how far the show has fallen, but I digress. This 22nd episode of the seventh season is all by the nail in the coffin for the show. Let me summarize it like this:
“Major subplot is prematurely ended prior to the finale (thus, the finale will have pretty much nothing to do with the 22 hours we’ve already experienced). Jack beats the piss out of subdued Tony. Jack fails to kill Tony. Kim is waiting at the airport. Kim gets captured by a cougar and her husband. Jack is forced into the cliche hero’s dilemma.”
The episode actually ends with Jack facing the decision to either save his daughter by freeing Tony and slaying his pet project, Renee. Or, make sure Tony gets what he desires and let terrorists slaughter his daughter. Sadly, I think the only safe character is Renee which is just too bad. Tony will probably die, but it is unlikely to be done by Jack’s hand, again unfortunately. Kim is immortal as has been repeatedly demonstrated throughout the series so I don’t think that she will end up getting waxed.
I know that vanlandw is hoping to see Kim KO’d, but I highly doubt that will happen. Does anyone else have any thoughts on the matter prior to the finale?
Regardless of what happens, I half expect for 24 to become dead to me after the finale.

This season started out even impressing ME – and I am one picky ass 24 viewer.
In my mind the season is over. They neutralized the bioweapon threat.
The finale is going to be a “Jack saves kim / Kim saves Jack” made for tv movie.
Kim will not die, neither will chloe. The show keeps all the people that it SHOULD kill off.
tony is going to turn good again, then be evil again, and then good one last time to help jack save kim.
bill buchanan will come back from the dead like tony. but he will be an actual living-dead zombie.
Chloe and janice will continue the pissing match about who knows more in imaginary IT land. they will both “reboot the subnet” and then probably dyke it out.
this show is stupid now. I am back to hating it.
This show went to the dogs when they started casting way to many women.
24 went from a show that for every three things they did right they did one thing wrong and now that is turned around. For every jack beating the crap out of tony you gotta put up with kim being kim-napped for the ninth time (i looked it up nine times) stupid chloe/janice dogshit and a multiple rehashes from various other seasons.
I’m stickin with it till the end but most my enthusam is gone away. Personally I still “like” the show but the last aboutAt some point I’ll rewatc three episodes have pretty much stunk. h season seven with enjoyment of episodes 7-15 but really since tony waxed two helpless FBI agents that is totally out of his character it’s been 100% downhill.
The thing is what’s better on TV right now. There are no good “action” shows on tv everything is doctors/lawyers/cops. This season of Rescue Me has actually been pretty damn good other then that I don’t watch anything else.
I forgot to post what I think is going to happen. I did not watch the teaser and I don’t read spoilers so here is my guess based off re-watching about 10 mins of this weeks episode before bed last night

Jack is somehow going to get Tony out. He isn’t going to kill FBI agents to do it but might shoot one of them in the leg. He will get away to the dismay of “Renee” but she can read minds and some how figure out this isn’t “Jack”. Or Jack wil come straight out and say “I have to do this” in a wonderful season one rehash.
Kim now being of age should be able to get herself out of her own messes so I think she will get away using her smarts rather then need jack to save her. Making what Jack is doing pointless but he just won’t know.
The bitch on the comm is going to have Jack take Tony to the airport. I think that either jack or renee will want to kill tony but won’t be able to or won’t be able to. If Renee kills tony I’m no longer watching the show that would be just a travisty.
Somehow this season ends in the hospital with jack hurt or kim hurt and they patch jack up for HOPEFULLY a final season 8 to hunt down the prison break based “COMPANY” and tony with a reinstated CTU. They might throw a twist in there with either a returning character or something from left field.
Minimal action more or less Jack kills no more then 1-2 at the most.
Tony is going to die in transition thus Jack can’t make the trade, so Renee lives. Kim will die or not. This is a toss up. She was survived before because Jack was coming to save her, but she may have to save herself which mean she probably will die. Either way she is going to save Jack for the disease.
Chloe becomes head of CTU when it is reinstated and Janice will be promoted to Head of FBI.
When Jack realizes that the “COMPANY” is still out there; he flies into Earth’s orbit and reverses Earth’s spin to time travel. …
Then it ends where it began. Jack sitting in front of Congressional hearing board.
I have watched 24 seen the first day it was on TV. I gave up on it some last season and this season did nothing for me either. I think it may be better off with a complete solo Jack, or Jack dies and Peirce takes over.
I started the season with a lot of hope and excitement but those feelings were dashed (as usual) after the first couple of episodes and sheer idiocy of the plot/characters/lines/technology. So after a few more weeks of unwatched episodes piling up on my DVR, I delete them and the timer and forgot all about it. I haven’t looked back
I may rent 24 season 1 though, just for fun.
My advice is to go back to Hulu and watch Dollhouse. You really only need to see the last two episodes of the season. The beginning montage should fill you in on everything you need to know. Seriously, it’s a great show for smart people. The rest of the shows have just started pandering.
