I just installed “WPTouch” on my site so that it looks nice on my ipod touch. However, it occurred to me that I may want to optimize the mobile browsing experience for users on other devices.
My question is, how many people actually read my site on a mobile device other than an iPhone/iPod Touch?
If there are a lot of users viewing the site on shitty browsers I can switch out WPTouch for MobilePress.
Did you test out the plugin I’ve been using? It’s cross platform. I’ve tested on winmo, crackberry, and IRipoff.
WordPress Mobile Edition is the plugin. It’s a plugin / theme.

That was the original link, but now someone else is sponsoring the plugin.
That one looks pretty interesting. I like the simplicity of MobilePress, but I did not like that there was not a way to comment with it. This “Mobile Edition” plugin may be the way to go.
good Call jja… I’ve been meaning to install mobilepress and this has fully reminded me.
You can stick with WPTouch cuz I am using MobilePress!
So…how does you installing the plugin help my visitors?
JJA I never attend your homepage on anything other then a normal workstation so all this effort is lost on me…clearly I’m your biggest fan.
Remove this plugin asap
Do any of these plugins give a “mobile version” to the admin interface?
Jja – clearly you still need to write “PressBerry”

Mobile version of the admin interface… EXACTLY what I wanted.
one last thing jja…
mobilepress on my site does have a “post comment” link at the very bottom of the comments page you click on.
I’m sticking with mobilepress/wphone combo
Good call on the wphone plugin. Not as nice and the iphone app, but very capable. I’ll have to take another look at the mobilepress plugin. I may have just missed that link.
