@Wolf, you are correct, this is not a review. It is pretty much just a rant about the game (there is actually a part two because there was too much bad for one post). The music was ok, I liked the music from the other games better. I pretty much threw on a pair of headphones and tried to power through it. I basically treated it like work about halfway through the game, because it was just awful, but I had to finish it.

Not even a hair of positive feedback? This was a slaughter, not a review. Well, who am I to judge? Happy hunting. Oh, I have to ask. Did you at least like the music? I hum the fanfare (end of the battle music) all the time. There is actually a numerous amount of good music on there. Battle, opening, & boss battle themes. Heck, if you can say you liked only one thing about it. It'd have to be that.

@Meccintalo, I knew to expect greifers, but I am surprised to get one so soon.

@Vanlandw, you're right I did forget to mention the combat, I'll have to go back and do and update about it. And, I did briefly mention the difficulty spikes requiring grinding. However, I rarely had problems with it, it was just kind of annoying.

As much as I love many entries in this series (1,4,6 and I would say the first half of six is maybe one of my favorite sections in a videogame ever) 10 pretty much blows. Some of the voiceacting is pretty bad but the guy who does Wakka is very good.

The thing is I have NO problem with cut scenes but many of the ones in FFX are just not every interesting. MGS4 has just GIGANTIC cut scenes but the good ones are just amazing and in the main series I feel they all stand up to the test of time. FFX are kinda bland. The thing is I understand what they were going for but it's mostly comes down to this game just doesn't age well. Comparing the work that the MGS2 team does compared to the FFX team is quite a contrast

I'm shocked you didn't say anything about the combat. The thing is I wouldn't have any beef with it if you DIDN'T have to use every character in a fight to get experience. Many fights are extended WAY to long while I switch in characters to do nothing. I think you have seven dudes you got to use in a battle and when you can end it in three dudes that is highly frustrating. Battle is just broken IMHO or maybe I'm missing something?

Many issues I think come from not having as much time as I would used to have to fully enjoy these games. The older games everything was fast battle would go though fine spells were seconds rather then watching an aeon come in for 2 mins for the 100th time. Being unable to skip cut scenes or intros is frustrating (and i believe fixed for FFXII?).The thing is I believe FF8 you could skip espers or whatever intros 10 you cannot.

Regardless I'm trudging though this game but I believe for both of us our tastes have changed. The Jap RPG is a different type of game now but the Fallout 3's and Mass Effect's might be more around our tastes. After watching some of the FFXIII footage the cut scenes seem much more interesting with harder edged action and the battle seems much switfter and being a PS3 owner on a HDTV there is no way i'm not at least trying it out. Of the FF games that I've played this might be my least favorite and I really didn't like 8-9 much. I'll tune back in after I fully defeat the title.

You also didn't mention the spike in difficultly either after a point....
