Despite the fact that Best Buy as an organization is out to screw you, not all the employees are.
Earlier I swung up to Best Buy to pick up a PlayStation 2 memory card for my little brother. While was I there I picked up a CaseLogic CD case, and a 50 pack of Verbatim DVD+R’s. These DVDs were supposed to be on sale as mentioned in their weekly flier. But, there was a catch.
When I had the items rung up, the price seemed a bit off. About $6 too expensive. So I asked what the prices were. It seems the DVDs rang up at $21 instead of the $15 they were supposed to.
The chick asked me if I grabbed the right thing. She abandoned her checked lane and walked over to the media aisle. I followed her there. She found the spot where the DVDs were supposed to be, and discovered that the disks there were 8x, but the ones on sale were 16x.
At this point she proceed to reach into the back of the shelf and pull all the 50 packs off on the ground. She picked through the packs for a few moments until she found the right thing.
She said, “they do this all the time. They try to dump old inventory by advertising a product that we only have a few of. Most of the time they charge more for the older inventory like they are doing now. Even if I couldn’t have found the 16x ones, I would have given you these for $15. Even though we are not supposed to do that.”
I was pleasantly surprised to find someone just give me to the “too bad, so sad” song and dance they normally do.
Also, the photo of at the top is kind of random. I stuck it up there because it kind of looks like the clerk at Best Buy.
that woman is going to be my wife
Good luck with that. I don’t know the quality of her personality, so she may just be a “trophy” wife.
