Apparently, I made a corrupt bargain with one, vanlandw. I told him that if he wrote a post, I would write up another one for the day. Not only that, but it would be completely original aka not a post from my queue. Anyhow, I figured it was a safe bet considering the it takes vanlandw about a week to work up the energy to type up a post. Unfortunately, I was wrong, so here I am.
I am currently trying to figure out the best way to get the video clips from season four of 24. I was trying to use a program that would capture clips of just the streams that I needed. But, it used the QuickTime engine, so it was unable to handle my files, as they are xvid wrappers with MP3 audio that QuickTime cannot handle. So, the clips would have just ended up being video without audio, not unlike my first few for season five.
Right now, I am testing to see how long it takes to transcode an episode to DV format so that I can import it into iMovie and crop it down. Unfortunately, it seems to take about half an hour. I am not sure I actually want to do this, but I am unsure of a better way at the time. Also, I think the audio might not be sync’d up properly, so that may be another burden to overcome. On the bright side, I did discover that you can force ffmpegx to encode two videos at the same time, which works out well, since I have two processors. At least this way I can transcode two instead of doing them one at a time. Since most of the kills happen in a few episodes this might make the most since for them. For the final few I may just hook up my video capture device and play them through my media player.
Stay tuned for more updates on the project.
Ugh…apparently encoding two movies at the same time was not such a good idea. They have both passed 100% in the encoding process and have not stopped. :-/
UPDATE: Apparently, the progress bar just got screwed up, becasuse everything worked out just fine. I think they finished at something like 150%. So, I have got the clips together for 1-19. Only 25 more to go.

clearly a reboot would have cleared everything up :-p
and my post was AMAZING >:o
Rebooting solved nothing. I have the problem today as well.
Your post was on par with your average quality.

I guess it is time for good old, they.misled.us, to close shop as you must clearly be carrying the burden.
don’t you dare….
But, you clearly stated that your website gave a superior offering, thus I see no reason to keep mine around.
regardless of how amazing vanlandw.com is lesser offerings should still be available ;-P
I fail to see your logic.
