Sheer Attrition of Funds

screw that

Some of you may know that I recently terminated the life of my iPod. Granted, it was not intentional, it just succumb to four years of fairly continuous use. Considering the fact that it lasted so long, I suppose that I should be happy. But replacing broken/defective electronics is never enjoyable, and I seem to be doing a lot of it lately.

As you can see by the image above, Apple apparently believes that I am some kind of common thief. And, that their simple warning “Don’t Steal Music” will prove to be a powerful deterrent. The interesting thing is that it does not say “Don’t Pirate Music” which is completely different, and what most people do.

Anyway, I now have a shiny new black 30 gb iPod that I have named “Serenity,” and which contains 4.87 gb of audio files. I am not sure what I am going to do with the extra space (videos are pretty much out of the question). I am more concerned with this thing lasting me as long as the last one diligently did.

Now, if Rhapsody of Fire, and Apocalyptica would just release some new albums I would be in business.

hwo does your brother like that new shuffle? i’m thinking of buying one. i can’t imagine needing more than 200 songs on an mp3 player, and the clip is a really great feature for me. i need something small that i can use in small doses when im doign desk stuff at work…

Jesse likes his little shuffle. At least he uses every day. If you just have a random playlist and you don’t care about order or name of any of that, I’m sure it would be fine. The battery life is not that long.

I list primary to audio books on my ipod, so it is important that I be able to read track names and have them executed sequentially.

My parting thoughts are that you should get a shuffle best matching your personality, Rusty. Pink.

i wouldn’t even imagine getting a shuffle you should get a nano or a full sized…if i were you just wait for the new form of regular iPods

It all just depends on what you are using the ipod for. I could easily see using a shuffle if all I did was listen to a small list of musical arrangements of which the order did not matter.
