WordPress 2.5

What a pain in the ass. The included theme did not work (internal server error), so I thought something was screwed up in the config. I wasted a significant amount of time screwing with htaccess files, blowing away and recreating config files, etc… For whatever reason, when I went into the admin, and reset the theme to my default everything started working correctly. Lovely.

I had no problems what so ever with my upgrade and custom theme. Wonder what was different?

my k2 theme was not affected and i upgraded using svn, so it was totally painless.

Yeah, I have a non standard install, since I run wp from directory outside my root, and use an htaccess file to handle the url magic. It works, most of the time. My problem during install was actually with the default theme, not my custom theme. Switching to the custom theme is what fixed it.

I really should start doing an svn install, I just don’t like the prospect of getting all the nice bleeding edge bugs in the process.
