Not Another Teen Movie

Note: Post comes from my old sky fortress site.

After a long day of throwing Jarg’s feces at unsuspecting passer-bys, Jarg said to himself. I want to see a moving containing similar potty humor, as it were. So, Jarg goes to see Not Another Teen Movie (NATM). What Jarg this is simple. NATM start with bad premise, then execute poorly. Jarg think it’s not a bad idea to mock, or parody if you will, serious teen movies like, She’s All That. However, Jarg think it utterly idiotic to try to parody bad teen comedies like American Pie. It take a crack bunch to accomplish a goal like that, none of those chattering meat puppets were up to it.
Biggest problem with this steaming pile of manure is movies NATM tries pathetically to parody are funnier than it. It make Jarg laugh just to think of this horrible failure. Most films are from 90′s, however the director and his cracked writers try to reach back into the 80s…poor 80s…Though NATM mainly stick with pop movies, there were some desperate titles such as Rudy that were referenced. Jarg not know why such things occur. Jarg think that if humor is not understanding, Jarg’s sides should be slitting…they are not.

Story…ahh story, Jarg think hard to try to recall story. Something about She’s all that, or some kind of take off of that. Often times, Jarg was too busy hurling his own feces at screen. The main characters were just your typical teen movie characters, such as the token black guy, the over sexed evil sister etc… The biggest problem says Jarg, is that by making character cliché is a cliché. Jarg says so, thus it must be.

Jarg think only interesting part is cleverness. Now, Jarg not confuse you, not much clever in movie, it just have moments. Jarg somewhat liked background sounds that pointed out bizzareness of situations. “What the hell is she doing here? She graduated four years ago!”

Final Thoughts: Jarg think everyone should see this movie. Then, everyone feel bad for Jarg.

The ape that retrieved this filth for Jarg to watch was chased out of Sky fortress with stones. Jarg think that ape is not “happily” living in exile.

Ode to Mild Success

Finally, Mandrake 8.0. Hmmm. . .good old X Windows, crashing already. After waiting, how long was it? Some five days to download the two CD ISOs of the new “final” release of Mandrake 8.0. This was it, the new release I was waiting for. I was very happy with the evaluation I conducted with Mandrake 7.2 (on my desktop). So, I figured that with this new version, I would install it on my desktop, and laptop. Cool, huh? How many of you actually know what linux is? If you can’t find the link I “hid,” linux is an open source answer to Windows (or Mac if you are “creative,” or lazy (it all depends on how you look at it)). It was release by a man name Linus (if you want to know more, research).

Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah, that installation. It went pretty smooth in general. I destroyed a Windows partition on my laptop and let Linux do its thing. The desktop wasn’t too trilled with the idea of the upgrade. I ended up having to do a clean install (which consists of formating the drive/partition and installing “freshly”). But, I have been up for a few days now, and am pretty happy with it.

If You Wish Upon a Mage Knight

Every heard of a little game called Mage Knight?”Hey! You can’t do that!”

“Why not?”

“Because, it is against the rules?”

“Is it really?”

“Well, I don’t see anything about it in the rules. . .but, it isn’t fair.”

“Regardless, you lose.”

“Crap.”

Nothing like a good old game of Mage Knight. The rules are VERY weak in many cases. I found that it was necessary to revise them, and create my own set.

First of all, elevated terrain, it is a marvelous idea, but WizKids executed it horribly. The fact that the game only addresses a single of elevation is laughable. To compliment this goof-ball system, block terrain allows you to put a tooth pick on the table, and state that it is a wall that is infinitely high–but flying creatures can fly over it. It is all a bit too screwed up for me.

Anyway, I am in the process/changed the rules to accommodate my twisted will. If you browse around, you should be able to find it on this site somewhere (probably in the misc. section).

On a non-directly related note, my brother picked up a booster pack of this lovely little money sponge, he actually received more “good” characters in those two boosters than I did spending some $40.00 on the blasted plastic figurines.

Bah humbug (or whatever the saying is).

Well, that’s all I have to say today. I hope you have found this article unique and insightful. And, if you haven’t, well then, don’t complain to me. That is, unless you want to, it’s no skin off my back.

Cowboy Bebop

If I were a bounty hunter. . .in the future. . .of fallen earth. Well. . .I would want to be a member!

I case none of your knew before this statement, Ed is the main character.

This was a well done series, the episodes are all that necessary to each other. But, the plot of each it nice. The video within is good, the sound as well.

Iria

Well, if you like this film, there is a good chance that you also like films with empowered women (which I am not all that fond of). Despite all of here fancy tactics and strengths, she is still very human and has issues of here own. So, unlike most anime, the protagonist is potentially believable. And, she isn’t image of power feminist fantasize about.
The plot is descent for an Anime, nothing that will shake your the world (and if it does, you frighten me). And, it isn’t all that painful to watch.

Animation is what I expect, nothing stunning.

Sound, of all the traits that I so brutally digest, this is the least important to me. So if the sound track doesn’t fizzle and everything is clear I am happy with it.
