Let’s All to the Lobby

The Punisher was a highly underrated film. Now, granted it is nothing special. I think that most of the critics were expected the standard over the top special effects phenomena that are current comic book movies. If that is what you are expecting, then you will be disappointed. If you actually have an idea of who punisher is, then your only disappoint should be his gentleness. I have heard that it was a lackluster, grime, action movie, which I suppose is accurate, but I do not really consider that a bad thing, especially considering who we are talking about. It was actually a pleasant surprise to see the way that he sought revenge for the slaughtering of his family. Now, without giving away any spoilers, I will just end by saying that it was a good movie, not a great movie. I recommend checking it out. By the way, it did not suck like Dare Devil aka the worst comic book movie ever made.

Kill Bill Volume 2, what can I say? Well, I like the first one better. It had epic battles. This movie jumped around a lot like the first one, but it had more of what felt like fillers, things that did not really enhance the action or the story. If you can imagine the first movie with more random stuff and shorter fights that is basically what is boils down to. I suppose the bottom line is the first one was better, and this was a disappointment. However, if you have seen the first one, then see this. Otherwise, just stay home.

Kill Bill Volume 1

Well, I watched Kill Bill Volume 1 again today. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it a second time. Having a general idea of everything that is going on, and knowing what is going to happen next helps pacing a lot in the movie. When I first saw in the theater it seemed rather long, but on DVD is seemed just right. So, that is definitely cool. I am eagerly anticipating watching the second volume later today.

Going to the Movies

Later today I plan on going into the wild world of Cinema to witness two new films: Kill Bill Volume 2, and the Punisher. However, first I will watch Kill Bill Volume 1 in order to achieve a ?refresher? I liked it the first time, so it should be at least a decent watch. I bought it last night so I am set there. I did take a peak at general reviews of these two movies, and it seems that KBV2 is getting great reviews, but Punisher is getting horrid reviews. Though I am not exactly sure what to make of them since, the people bashing the Punisher are attacking it for what Punisher is: a no thrills, dark, action comic. Thus, why should the movie be any different? Eh, I will just have to let you know after I check it out.

LadyKillers, Again

Well, yesterday I went to see the Ladykillers again, this time with my mother, for whatever reason. Anyhow, the point is to inform you all that the movie was still very good a second time. I suppose that it would be accurate to call me a sucker for dark comedies. I would probably group this movie among other titles such as O’Brother Where Art Thou, and what not, titles that seem to be equally good each time you watch them. Thus, it has become clear that I would owe this DVD when it comes out. If this post sounds a little ranty, it is because it is, and it was written only for the sake of being written. So, there.

Eye

Now, I admit that I have started, and just kept on going for no apparent. Well I happened to notice that my contacts pick up quite a reflection when I was checking them in the mirror today (I have been wearing them too long so they are started to break down, damn disposables). Anyhow, I thought that it would be a weird thing to take a picture of my eye, and see if the camera showed up in it. Well, as the picture shows it does. Now, I suppose a more complicated shot would be to try to take a picture of my eye without showing the camera. My thoughts as to how to complete that task would be to just set it somewhere with the timer and look at it straight on so that the camera was over my pupil, thus hiding it. But, I’ll have to try that another time. Anyhow, in the mean time you all can enjoy this rather disturbing image:

PS – Looks like I have just completed my fifth post in forty five minutes. This has been quite an epic posting spree!
